On Giving Back
I am especially proud of the creative work that I do in the beautiful city of Inglewood, California. As Artistic Director of The Willie Agee Playhouse since 2016, I strive to foster a successful arts scene right in my neighborhood. I firmly believe that the performing arts can invigorate, educate, and connect us to each other. I have a vested interest in seeing my community thrive, and I’m passionate about promoting emerging artists and playwrights, providing a variety of workshops and classes for both youth and adults, and producing a diverse slate of plays and events. The stage brings me joy!
I am also a firm believer in volunteering. I served as a helpline counselor for the Trevor Project, a nation-wide, around-the clock crisis and suicide hotline for the LGTBQIA community. I also delivered meals to seniors and shut-ins for St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels. I currently deliver food weekly for Hunger Action Los Angeles, providing necessary nourishment to families in need. I also ran the LA Marathon is support of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Working with all of these organizations has been very fulfilling. Please take the time to visit their websites and donate however you can. Pay it forward!
